 Julian Barnes is Co-Founder and CEO of the BFS Network, the premier growth accelerator and market intelligence company in the beauty, fitness, and self-care industry. For more than 20 years, he has applied his background in leadership, strategic planning, and analysis to help fitness and wellness businesses build the systems, structure, and intelligence required to scale.


Barnes leads BFS' CEO Network — the premier peer-to-peer leadership network for multi-location, multimillion-dollar brick-and-mortar operators — and serves as Managing Director of the Global Leadership Council, whose members are CEOs and founders of the most influential brands in beauty and wellness, collectively operating more than 10,000 locations worldwide. He also serves as an Outside Director for a global fitness brand.

His broader career reflects a consistent track record at the intersection of enterprise building and industry leadership. Barnes created NYU's Institute in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management, taught Fitness Marketing & Management at the Swedish Institute's College of Health Science, and has lectured at Columbia University and Wharton. He served on the US Tennis Association's Investment Committee — which managed a $200M portfolio — for four years, and serves on the Tufts Nutrition Council, advising the Dean of the Friedman School of Nutrition.

He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences including the Health & Fitness Association (HFA) and the TITLE Boxing Franchisors Summit, and has been featured in The New York Times, Men's Health, and Crain's NY. He holds a BA from Tufts University and a JD from UNC Chapel Hill School of Law.
